The LP-IB-1211-78 is a high-capacity rigid pallet box / industrial bigbox container designed for intensive use in heavy industry, automotive, chemicals, recycling, food processing and large-scale logistics. With a 1200×1100 mm industrial footprint and a height of 760 mm (feet version), this container provides a generous 680 L useful volume, making it ideal for dense and bulky loads, from metal parts and castings to liquids in liners, powders, granules and high-volume packaged goods.
The LP-IB-1211-78 is manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), fully recyclable and free of metal inserts. It delivers excellent resistance to shocks, stacking loads, low temperatures and many aggressive substances such as diluted and concentrated acids and alkalis. It is suitable for food-industry use and works reliably in cold rooms as well as ambient industrial areas.
This bigbox is available in three base configurations, each with specific dimensions and tare weights:
- 4 feet version – external: 1200×1100×760 mm, weight 38 kg
- 2 skids version – external: 1200×1100×780 mm, weight 41 kg
- 3 skids version – external: 1200×1100×780 mm, weight 44 kg
All versions share internal dimensions of 1110×1010×605 mm, with solid, fully closed walls and a sealed bottom to ensure leak-proof performance.
The structural design incorporates a double-wall ribbed structure on the sides and bottom, providing very high mechanical strength and long-term durability. The LP-IB-1211-78 supports a unit load of 530 kg per box and a stacking load of 4800 kg, with up to 8 units stackable in vertical storage under recommended conditions. Because it is also suitable for liquids, technical documentation notes that the admissible load for liquid products should be reduced by around 12%, to maintain safety margins under dynamic and thermal stress.
The combination of robust structure, liquid suitability, food compatibility and strong stacking performance makes LP-IB-1211-78 one of the most versatile and widely applicable pallet box formats in industrial logistics.
Applications & Industry Uses
- Automotive & engineering: metal castings, machined components, engine parts, gear housings, fastener boxes
- Industrial manufacturing: tooling, semi-finished parts, heavy plastic mouldings, kitting assemblies
- Chemical industry: bagged or lined containers with powders, granules, additives, pigments, liquid chemicals (in inner packaging)
- Recycling & waste streams: metal scrap, dense plastics, WEEE fractions, process offcuts and heavy regrind
- Food industry & cold chain: bulk packaged meat or fish in cartons, ingredients in liners, intermediate products in cold rooms
- Agriculture & horticulture: packed fruit and vegetables in crates, seed and fertilizer bags, intensive greenhouse logistics
- Distribution centres & logistics hubs: mixed SKU cartons, buffer stock, returns consolidation, cross-docking bulk units
- Pharmaceutical & cosmetics: drums, containers and boxes with raw materials, packaging components, bottles and closures
Usage Scenarios
- In an automotive plant, LP-IB-1211-78 bigboxes with 3 skids are loaded with heavy cast iron housings and machined parts. Forklifts move them from machining cells to central storage, stacking up to eight boxes in a compact area. The reinforced ribbed structure prevents deformation even under extreme static loads.
- In a chemical production site, the container holds lined batches of granules and powdered additives. The closed walls and sealed bottom offer secure containment, while HDPE resistance to acids and alkaline solutions ensures safe handling of incidental spills and aggressive atmospheres.
- In a seafood processing and cold-storage operation, the 4-feet version is used for storing cartons of frozen fish and shellfish. The pallet box maintains dimensional accuracy in low temperatures, and its closed base prevents ice and melt-water leakage in cold rooms.
- In a recycling facility, the 2-skid configuration is chosen for conveyor compatibility. LP-IB-1211-78 containers are positioned under shredders and granulators to collect high-density plastic regrind or shredded metal, relying on the 530 kg unit load capacity for safe, dense packing.
