The LP-NPR-28 is a precision-engineered Neopor® isothermal insert that converts the LP-NCPP-2800 28 L pharma distribution container into a validated cold-chain shipping system. Using graphite-enhanced expandable polystyrene (Neopor® GPS), it delivers superior thermal insulation, maintaining 2 °C – 8 °C for up to 16 hours when used with rigid eutectic gel packs.
The insert features exactly molded panels for a perfect internal fit, minimizing air pockets and optimizing heat-flow resistance.
It combines low density (≈ 30 kg/m³) with a high R-value (~ 0.033 W/m·K) to ensure exceptional energy efficiency while keeping total system weight under 500 g.
This configuration enables Good Distribution Practice (GDP)-compliant cold-chain handling for pharmaceuticals, vaccines, diagnostics, and biologics without requiring active refrigeration units.
Material Technology — Neopor® Graphite EPS
Neopor® is a high-performance insulation material based on expandable polystyrene (EPS) enhanced with graphite particles. These micro-particles reflect and absorb infrared radiation, significantly reducing heat transfer through radiation and conduction.
As a result, Neopor® offers:
- Up to 20 % higher insulation efficiency compared to standard white EPS.
- Lower thickness for equal thermal performance, enabling higher payload volumes.
- Dimensional stability across a wide temperature range.
- Closed-cell structure providing excellent moisture resistance (< 1 % water absorption).
- Inert, food- and pharma-safe composition, with no CFCs, HCFCs, or HBCD additives.
This material makes the LP-NPR-28 an ultra-light yet highly efficient thermal barrier, ensuring product integrity during temperature-sensitive transport.
Applications & Use Cases
- Pharma cold-chain distribution — vaccines, temperature-sensitive medications, biologics.
- Hospital and laboratory logistics — controlled transfer of samples, reagents, and kits.
- Biotech and diagnostics — preservation of enzyme reagents and chemical assays.
- Clinical trial supply chains — consistent thermal protection for investigational materials.
- Medical e-commerce deliveries — ensures integrity of chilled or sensitive medical products.
Handling & Use
- Place eutectic gel packs on the top panel or sides to maintain target temperature.
- Close container with LP-ACC-NCP-4931 lid for best sealing efficiency.
- After each use, inspect and clean with mild detergent; allow to air-dry.
- Store in a clean, dry environment to maintain insulation integrity.
Sustainability
The LP-NPR-28 supports circular logistics through reuse and recyclability. Made entirely from mono-material Neopor®, it can be fully recycled at the end of its service life without separating materials. Its long lifespan significantly reduces waste from single-use thermal packaging in pharma logistics.
The LP-NPR-28 Neopor® Isothermal Insert offers a precisely engineered, reusable cold-chain solution for the LP 28 L pharma container. With its graphite-based thermal insulation, lightweight design, and validated performance, it guarantees stable 2–8 °C temperature control for pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and diagnostics. Efficient, hygienic, and fully recyclable — the LP-NPR-28 is the next generation of passive cold-chain protection for sustainable medical logistics.
