The LP-GEL Series represents Logistic Packaging’s complete range of rigid eutectic plates and gel packs — high-performance cold accumulators engineered to maintain controlled temperatures inside isothermal boxes and insulated containers.

Each plate consists of a blow-molded HDPE outer shell filled with a non-toxic eutectic liquid designed to melt and solidify at a defined phase-change temperature (typically 0 °C). This technology ensures stable, gradual temperature release, protecting sensitive goods such as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, diagnostics, laboratory reagents, and fresh food during storage and transport. Available in multiple formats (F4, F6, PR200–PR800), the LP-GEL plates integrate easily with LP-NPR-28 Neopor® inserts and LP-NCPP-series pharma containers, but can also be used as standalone cold plates in other packaging systems.

  • Optional PCM filling: customized formulations available for +5 °C, −3 °C, or −18 °C applications.
  • Thermochromic option: color-changing gel indicates when plate is frozen and ready to use.
  • Customizable: logo embossing, labeling, or case-specific geometries on request.
  • Safety & compliance: non-toxic, food-safe, and fully recyclable; suitable for all transport modes (air, road, sea).

Applications & Use Cases

  • Pharmaceutical & Biotech Logistics — maintaining controlled 2–8 °C environments for medicines, vaccines, and reagents.
  • Hospital & Laboratory Distribution — safe transfer of clinical samples, blood derivatives, and diagnostics.
  • Food & Catering Cold-Chain — fresh or temperature-controlled food transport for retail, HoReCa, or catering.
  • E-Commerce & Home Delivery — reusable cold source for perishable or sensitive shipments.
  • Temperature Mapping Validation — ideal for qualification of passive thermal packaging systems.

Handling & Storage

  • Pre-freeze for at least 24 h at −20 °C before use.
  • Position plates evenly within insulated container for uniform cooling.
  • After use, wash and inspect for cracks or leaks; refreeze for next rotation.
  • Store flat during freezing to maintain even gel distribution.

Sustainability

The LP-GEL Series supports circular cold-chain logistics through multi-cycle reusability and recyclable HDPE construction.
Each plate can be reused for dozens of trips, reducing dependence on single-use ice packs and disposable coolant systems.

The LP-GEL Series Rigid Eutectic Plates are high-efficiency, reusable cooling elements for passive cold-chain packaging.
Available in multiple sizes and temperature configurations, they provide precise, consistent thermal control for pharma, biotech, food, and healthcare logistics. Durable, non-toxic, and recyclable — they form a key component of modern GDP-compliant and sustainable cold-chain systems.

FAQ

What are eutectic plates and how do they work?

+

Eutectic plates (also known as rigid gel packs or cold accumulators) contain a phase-change solution that freezes and melts at a fixed temperature, usually 0 °C or +5 °C. During transport, they slowly absorb or release heat to maintain a stable temperature environment inside insulated containers — essential for pharma, biotech, and food cold-chain applications.

Can these eutectic plates be used in any type of box or tote?

+

Yes. While perfectly compatible with LP Neopor® isothermal boxes, the LP-GEL Series plates can also be used in any insulated container, plastic tote, or cooler. Their flat, rigid design allows flexible placement on top, sides, or bottom of the payload, adapting to various packaging systems.

How long do the LP-GEL eutectic plates maintain cold temperature?

+

Depending on the model and configuration, the plates can maintain a 2–8 °C range for up to 16–24 hours, when used in validated passive packaging setups. Performance depends on ambient conditions, gel temperature, and insulation quality.

Are the gel and materials food-safe and reusable?

+

Absolutely. The non-toxic eutectic gel is fully enclosed in a HDPE rigid shell, certified for food and pharmaceutical contact. Each plate is washable, leak-proof, and reusable for multiple freeze–thaw cycles, supporting sustainable cold-chain operations.

What size or eutectic temperature should I choose?

+

Selection depends on your container volume, product sensitivity, and required hold time. Smaller plates (e.g., F4–PR400) are ideal for compact isothermal boxes, while larger models (PR600–PR800) extend autonomy for biopharma and food distribution. Phase-change options are available for 0 °C, +5 °C, or sub-zero cooling depending on your application.
